What this is

The Ward Maker is a free tool for making a protection sigil, a ward, in your browser. It folds a short word into a seal that repeats three, four, six or eight times round a center, for a door card, a phone screen or a print. It's a practice, and it won't protect anyone from real harm.

How the Ward Maker works

A ward is a sigil with a standing job. Most workings fire once and get forgotten. This one gets charged once, put somewhere that matters to you, and left there. Leaving it alone is the hard part. Give it a short word for the job: home, quiet, mine. A word you can say out loud is easier to keep in mind than a sentence.

The tool draws your word by the wheel or grid method, then mirrors the line three, four, six or eight times round the center, inside a ring if you want one. Each fold count looks different, so try all four. Reroll gives the same word a new layout. Keep the seal you'd hang on a door.

Charge it on the same breath timer as the Foundry, one to five minutes, box breath or 4-7-8. Then place it. A door card, a phone screen or a print sheet, saved as SVG or PNG in any of the three colorways.

Read this part before you hang anything. A ward is a practice. It gives your attention one chosen thing and a small ritual to go with it. It won't stop anything that's actually happening to you. Lock the door. Back up the file. Call the person you'd call, tonight if it's that kind of night. The seal goes up after that, if it helps.

Protection sigil questions

What is a protection sigil?

A sigil made for a standing job, such as keeping a room calm, instead of a one-off result. This site calls the longer-lived kind a ward. The mark is made the sigil way. The difference is what happens after: you place it and leave it, where a one-off sigil gets destroyed at once.

How do you make a protection sigil?

Write a short word for the job, draw it as a mark, and charge it with a few minutes of slow breathing. This tool folds the mark into a symmetric seal, times the charge and saves it for a door, a phone or a print. The sigil guide has the long version.

Does a protection sigil work?

Test it. A ward is a practice, and this page makes no promise that it protects anyone from real harm. Log it, check on a date, and mark what you saw. The guide to testing chaos magic shows how.

Can a sigil protect me from evil or black magic?

This site makes no claim that it can. If something frightens you, talk to a person you trust. A ward can be one small thing you do alongside that. It replaces nothing.

Where do you put a protection sigil?

Wherever you'll see it: the inside of a door, a bag tag, a phone lock screen. The tool offers a door card, a phone screen and a print sheet. Where it goes is your call. Nothing in the method says it has to be hidden.

Is the word I write sent anywhere?

No. It runs in your browser and the word never leaves the page. Saved files hold the drawing and none of the letters, and a Log entry keeps only the date to check.
