What this is
The Paradigm Deck is a free chaos magic deck of 40 belief frames for paradigm shifting. Draw one card or three, wear the belief for a single working or a week, and use the card's instructions to take it off.
How the deck works
Paradigm shifting means wearing a belief for one working or one week, then taking it off. The deck holds 40 frames so you don't have to invent them. Pick one the way you'd pick a wrench. Size it to the bolt.
Draw one card, or draw three. A three-card draw reads as The frame, The method and The exit. Every card has the same two parts. Wear it says how to act inside the belief. Take it off says how to leave.
The frames are good for different work. The Scientist and The Statistician are for checking. The Pantheon is for borrowing a manner. The Simulation and The Game Master are for play. None of them has to be true to run for the length of a working. Put each one back afterward, or by next week it's making your calls.
Each draw has its own link, and the same link always deals the same draw, so you can keep one or send it to somebody. When a card suits the job, hand it to the sigil generator as the style of your next working. The card's wear-it text rides along with the steps.
Paradigm shifting questions
What is paradigm shifting in chaos magic?
It's the practice of wearing a belief for one working or one week, then taking it off. The belief is a tool you pick up and put down. Nobody has to talk you into it first.
Do I have to believe the card I draw?
No. You act as if the frame might work for the length of the working, and nobody checks what you believed in between. When the working ends, the belief comes off. Leave it on and it quits being a tool.
How long should I wear a belief?
One working, or one week. The card's Take it off text tells you how to leave. Start with one working. A week inside a frame you didn't pick is longer than it sounds.
What does the three-card draw mean?
The three cards read as The frame, The method and The exit: a belief to work under, a way to act inside it, and the way out. Read the third card first.
Can I share a draw?
Yes. Each draw has a link, and the same link always gives the same draw.
Is the deck a divination tool?
No. Nothing on a card says what happens next. A card hands you a belief to wear and the way to take it off, and what happens next goes in the Log.
