Servitor builder

Six short screens that end in a printed charter. No charter prints without an off switch.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you type here leaves this page.
Name
A short name. Its sigil is drawn from the name.
Required.
Job
One task, in one sentence.
That reads like two jobs. One servitor, one job. Split it, or keep the one that matters.
One job. Good.
Required.
Limits
What it may not do and who it may not touch. Required.
Required.
Feeding
How it is fed, and how often.
Form
By default you let it choose its own form.
Lifespan and off switch
An end date or a condition, and how you dissolve it. Required.
For example: thank it out loud, end the feeding, and say it is finished.
A charter needs an end date or an end condition, and a way to dissolve it.
The off switch is part of the charter. Do not skip it.
What this is
The Servitor Bench is a free servitor builder for chaos magic. It takes you through six short screens and ends with a one-page charter card holding the servitor's name, one job, limits, feeding, form and end date, and it won't build the card without an off switch.
How the Servitor Bench works
A servitor, in chaos magic, is a small helper you make on purpose, with one job, written limits and an end date. A process you start by hand. The Bench takes the six fields one screen at a time: Name, Job, Limits, Feeding, Form, and Lifespan and off switch. It draws a sigil from the name by the wheel, grid or monogram method.
It checks your work as you go. Write a job that reads like two jobs and it tells you, because one servitor gets one job. Limits are required. No end date or end condition, and no words to dissolve it, means no charter.
Feeding is one of three: a few minutes of attention a day, one small repeated act, or a fixed weekly slot. Form is optional. The default lets the servitor choose its own, and nothing here asks you to picture a face.
You leave with a charter card. Print it, save it as a PDF, or save a calendar file for the end date that says nothing about the job. Save it to the Log and the entry holds no name and no job. The card is built in your browser and uploaded nowhere.
The off switch is the point of the card, because the usual way a servitor goes wrong is boring. Neglect. A helper left running long after you stopped watching it. When the date comes, do what the card says. Exactly that. The guide how to build a servitor walks through each field.
Servitor questions
What is a servitor in chaos magic?
A servitor is a small helper you make on purpose to do one job, with written limits and an end date. It's the other main technique beside the sigil: a sigil fires once, and a servitor stays on the job until you end it. If search sent you here from Warhammer 40,000, theirs is a drone. Same word, different job.
Can I build a servitor online?
Yes. The Servitor Bench builds the charter in your browser: name, job, limits, feeding, form and off switch, printed as a one-page card. Nothing you type gets uploaded.
Why only one job?
Because a job can be checked at the end of a week and a wish can't. If the sentence needs an "and", you have two servitors. Build two, or pick one.
What counts as feeding a servitor?
The Bench offers three: a few minutes of attention a day, one small repeated act, or a fixed weekly slot. Pick the one you'll actually keep, and write down how often, so you notice the day you stop.
How do I end a servitor?
On the end date, do exactly what the charter says: thank it, stop feeding it, say it's finished. If the job still needs doing, write a new charter with a new end date. Renewing by reflex is how a servitor outlives its job.
Is a servitor an entity or a psychological tool?
Writers split on it, and the build doesn't care which side you take: make it, watch it, check the results, end it. If a practice ever makes your sleep or mood worse, stop and talk to a person.
